These are areas which are used by both legitimate programmers and hijackers. It is continually updated to detect and remove new hijacks.

ใช้งาน
เมื่อโหลดไฟล์และติดตั้งเสร็จ เปิดโปรแกรมขึ้นมา ตามด้วย
1. คลิกแถว Do a system scan and save a logfile
2. รอสักครู่ให้ logfile แสดงขึ้นมา แล้วทำสำเนา(copy) ข้อความทั้งหมดในนั้น
3. เข้าเว็บไซต์นี้ http://www.hijackthis.de/ แล้ววางสำเนาที่ได้มา ลงในช่องว่าง ใต้ข้อความ You can paste a logfile in this textbox
4. จากนั้น คลิกที่ Analyze
5. เมื่อเว็บไซต์ได้ตรวจ logfile เสร็จ จะแสดงผลให้ทราบถึงอาการของคอมพิวเตอร์ ว่าปรกติ หรือไม่ปรกติอะไรบ้าง
โดยสังเกตเฉพาะแถวที่มีเครื่องหมาย X
ตามตัวอย่างรูปข้างล่าง แถวที่มีเครื่องหมาย X คือแถวที่ขึ้นต้นด้วย O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {ae07101b-46d4-4a98-.........}
6. กลับมาที่โปรแกรม HijackThis และติ๊กถูกที่ช่องแถว O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {ae07101b-46d4-4a98-.........} (ที่ทราบมาจากข้อ 5.)
7. และติ๊กถูกทุกช่อง แถวบนที่มีตัวอักษรขึ้นต้นด้วย R0(อาร์-ศูนย์)
8. เสร็จการตรวจด้วยการคลิกที่ Fix checked
